Oops!

The topic at Mo's Digital Challenge this week is "Tickle My Funny Bone". Here is my entry. I used Mo Manning's digital stamp entitled "Guilty Rocco". Isn't he adorable? I think this will make a perfect belated birthday card, or an apology card. The image is coloured with Copic markers. If you haven't tried digital stamps yet, Mo's Digital Pencil or Digital Pencil Too have fantastic images at a very reasonable prices. I love having a perfect image in whatever size I want by using a digital stamp.

Until next time,

P.S. - Allergy season is here for me!

Yellow

This week's challenge at "Less is More" is "Yellow". Oddly enough, yellow used to be my favourite colour. (I now favour red.) I still love yellow flowers - there's something especially luminous about yellow flowers whether they be roses, daffodils, lilies, tulips, mums, or daisies. Yellow is such a happy colour!

Well, here is my interpretation of yellow. I used a Memory Box craft die called "Prim Poppy" to cut the floral image and another die called "Meadow Leaf" for the foliage. I coloured both with Copic markers and mounted multiple layers to give the images more of a 3D effect. In order to get an identical colour match for my sentiment, I coloured a scrap of Neenah paper with the same colour of yellow I used on the flower and then cut and stamped the tag. I attached the tag with some Scrapper's floss which I also coloured with my Copic marker. I know that the background paper looks rather bluish, however on the actual card it is a textured white card stock.

Die Cut Cards

I have been participating in an online card class called "A Cut Above" that focuses on the use of die cuts and cutting machines. Here are 3 cards that I have made using Memory Box Dies.

This has been a great class and I encourage others to take part in these wonderful online card classes.

Close up of Crystal Ballz

At the request of several people who viewed the card on my previous post, I am posting a close up picture of my card and another picture of the material I used. I purchased Crystal Ballz from Class Act in Oshawa, Ontario. Class Act does ship in Canada, the United States and International destinations. Crystal Ballz beads are very tiny - they are about the size of very fine sand.

The picture above shows the material as it comes packaged in a small 3" x 3" plastic bag. You can see the tiny granules clinging to the side of the plastic bag. I have also shown the double-sided adhesive that I used, although I suspect that "Be Creative" tape would probably work too.

Feel free to ask questions.

Madonna

The "Less is More" challenge this week is to use one of the displayed sketches to create a card.

A dear friend of mine was gracious enough to lend one of her stamp sets to me. It is called "Madonna" and is from Chapel Road Artstamps. I just love the stone sculptured look of this image. She seems so very serene. I stamped the image in Russet Archival Ink. I covered the image with wide Crystal Ballz double-sided adhesive, then applied Crystal Ballz glass beads to cover the adhesive. I like to apply a thick layer of the tiny beads and press them into the glue of the adhesive, then dump off the excess. Next I place a piece of paper over the image and use my brayer to flatten the beads to a smooth finish. For those of you who have not used Crystal Ballz, these tiny transparent glass balls give the appearance of delicately frosted glass to the image underneath. After trimming the finished piece, I created a small black frame to cover the beautiful Madonna image. I added a rectangle of rust coloured card stock under the image and popped up the frame. I cut a decorative edge to the card with my Purple Cow Mouse and inked it with the same Russet ink that I used to stamp the image. The sentiment is also from the Madonna set of stamps. My final touch was a tiny bow made from Scrapper's Floss that I coloured with my E08 Copic Marker to match the ink used elsewhere on the card.
